About
J.D. Messick is an architect and builder with a deep understanding of how things are made. Trained in architecture and sculpture, he has worked across boatbuilding, theater fabrication, cabinetry, historic restoration, and large-scale art installations. He’s just as comfortable covered in sawdust as he is reviewing drawings.
He holds a Master of Architecture from the Yale School of Architecture and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture from the Rhode Island School of Design. Messick is a registered architect in New York State.
